Safe Space Dinners provides a safe space for all homeless and housing insecure youth, including LGBTQ+ youth, two nights a month. So where can these youth go when they need an LGBTQ+ Safe Space on those other days? Where is somewhere they can just be and feel welcomed whether it be just hanging out for free or getting some drinks, snacks, or food?
Some of us may need more than just a place to be. We may need specific resources to meet the needs of our day to day lives, but when you're LGBTQ+ you don't know if those places are welcoming or affirming. The Harriet Hancock Center has created an online resource guide to help places that meet peoples needs that are verified as LGBTQ+ friendly.
